About Time is Brain<\/strong>
\nTime is Brain is a MedTech spin-off founded in 2020 from the Fundaci\u00f3 d'Investigaci\u00f3 en Ci\u00e8ncies de la Salut Germans Trias i Pujol (IGTP). Our mission is to revolutionize acute stroke care through BraiN20\u00ae, a first-in-class portable medical device designed to monitor, in real time and automatically, the electrical activity and viability of the brain during ischemic stroke.<\/p>\n

We are a passionate, interdisciplinary team working at the intersection of neuroscience, biomedical engineering and clinical care.<\/p>\n

About the Role<\/strong>
\nWe are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with experience in medical device development to support the next design iteration and validation of the BraiN20\u00ae prototype. You will lead the mechanical architecture of the device, working closely with hardware, firmware, and biomedical engineers across the full product development lifecycle. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-impact medical technology in a dynamic start-up environment.<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities<\/strong>
\n\u2022 Lead the mechanical design and development of the BraiN20\u00ae device, including housing, assembly mechanisms, and component integration
\n\u2022 Adapt and optimize the mechanical structure to accommodate electronic components and circuit boards
\n\u2022 Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across biomedical, hardware and firmware engineering
\n\u2022 Ensure compliance with medical device regulatory standards
\n\u2022 Produce engineering documentation (CAD models, drawings, BOMs, tolerance analyses, design reports, etc.)
\n\u2022 Support prototype testing in healthy volunteer studies and clinical trials.
\n\u2022 Identify and coordinate subcontractors and suppliers (plastic injection, laser cutting, assembly, sterilization...)
\n\u2022 Contribute to design for manufacturing (DFM) and scaling for production<\/p>\n

Required Qualifications<\/strong>
\n\u2022 Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Mechanical, Biomedical, Industrial Design Engineering or related.
\n\u2022 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, ideally in regulated sectors (MedTech, automotive, aerospace...).<\/p>\n

\u2022 Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD).
\n\u2022 Experience with FEA, tolerance stack-up, and mechanical calculations.
\n\u2022 Knowledge of design for injection molding and other manufacturing techniques.
\n\u2022 Familiarity with mass production processes and transfer to manufacturing.<\/p>\n

Desirable Skills<\/strong>
\n\u2022 Previous experience in medical device development, prototyping and clinical testing.
\n\u2022 Understanding of EMC, electrical safety (IEC 60601), CE marking processes.
\n\u2022 Experience sourcing, negotiating and managing subcontractors and prototyping partners.<\/p>\n

\n\u2022 Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
\n\u2022 Autonomous, proactive and self-driven.
\n\u2022 Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
\n\u2022 Good command of spoken and written English.<\/p>\n
